Why "Pineneedle Collective"?

It was the name of my best friend's pub trivia team haha... when I first created this blog back in the middle of 2011, she suggested that as a name and it stuck! I kinda wish I had been less haphazard in naming my blog now. But there are probably worse names... and it has grown on me a little...

Why did you begin blogging?

Well, I honestly began blogging in mid-2011 because I'd gone on this mad clothes-shopping spree (on cheap clothes, don't get me wrong, but it was a lot of cheap clothes) after having my first full-time job and needed somewhere to show off all my new clothes. But then I started enjoying blogging because I was able to share with people the idea of creating your own unique, personal style regardless of what the current "trends" are - and that you can also do it without paying high-street prices. Through my blog I try to promote the art of doing-it-yourself (or DIY), because anything that you can make is not only going to be unique - no one else in the world is going to own what you do! - but it also feels great to be wearing something that you've made yourself!

What are you studying?
I am studying a Bachelor of Science and I am majoring in Biochemistry. I really want to do a masters, then a PhD and then work as a research scientist! I got my first taste of working in a laboratory in 2013, and I fell in love with it!

How did you dye your hair pink/purple/blue? Have you got any tips??

Where do you buy your wigs from?

2013 was the year of wigs! I mainly bought my wigs from Ebay. They're about $15 each and seriously good quality for that price! Search for "curly pink wig", "curly lilac wig", "curly brown wig", set the "sort by" to Lowest price + postage first, and have fun browsing :)

What camera do you use?
I use a Canon EOS 60D.
I take most of my photos using a tripod and self-timer in my kitchen or backyard!

How do you get that "vintage" effect on your photographs?
I use free curves and photoshop actions that I've found around the internet. Try doing a google search for "vintage curves". I've also found Julia Trotti's photoshop curves quite useful in the past!
